The butterfly guard requires elevating with the feet in the middle of the opponent's body to keep them away. Half guard involves controlling one of the opponent's legs from a sideways orientation.

BJJ Guards are in defensive positions where the bottom grappler controls their opponent to avoid damage while waiting for openings to transition or attack. The closed guard involves wrapping legs around the opponent’s waist while the open guard utilizes leg positioning to maintain distance.

Range BJJ’s innovative curriculum divides oefening into distinct phases—Fundamentals, Intermediate, and Advanced—each carefully designed to build upon the previous level. The Fundamentals program introduces new students to BJJ’s core principles through 30 foundational classes.

No prior experience is necessary. The gym welcomes complete beginners and offers a free introductory private class to help new students get started.
